The imperial cities tour is filled with urban pleasures, from marvellous Islamic architecture and gastronomic delights to busy medinas. The most famous cities in Morocco, Fez, Marrakech, Meknes and Rabat have played important roles throughout the history of Morocco from the pre-arabic times of the Berbers to the arrival of the Arabs, to European colonialism, and finally to independence in 1956. To see these cities is to see a millennia of history in a glance.
Day 1 : Casablanca -Rabat.
Upon arrival at Med V airport, we will meet you and drive you to Casablanca for a short tour which will include Hassan II Mosque, then drive to Rabat city, the administrative capital of the kingdom. Extensive sightseeing includes the Mausoleum Mohammed V, Hassan Tower, the Chellah necropolis and the Kasbah Oudaya. Late afternoon, check into your hotel, dinner and overnight in Rabat.
Day 2 : Rabat – Meknes – Volubilis-Fes.
After breakfast, you will take the highway towards the youngest imperial city of Meknes, one of the UNESCO sites. Here, among other things, you will visit the gate of Bab Mansour, El Hdim square, the silos, the stables, Mausoleum of the Sultan Mouly Ismail and the ramparts of the old medina, etc. Overnight in the ancient city of Fes.
Day 3 : Fes tour.
A whole day devoted for the visit of Fes, the intellectual and religious center of Morocco as well as the capital of craftsmanship. After breakfast, you will visit the ramparts of Fes including the royal palace, northern and southern towers that provide a stunning view on the medina, and the Jewish quarter. You will then explore the medieval medina of Fes, a UNESCO world heritage site. A labyrinth of around 9500 alleys, narrow cobbled streets that teem with ancient mosques
(around 365 mosques), Mederasas (Koranic schools), fountains and Foundouks besides the souks, shopping. Overnight in Fes.
Day 4: Fez- Ifran- Beni Mellal- Marrakech
Breakfast. Departure for Marrakech, the beautiful drive will take you up through the berber villages and towns of Imouzzer Kandar a small town situated 600 m above sea-level, and Ifran, a delightful ski resort well known for its wood carving in the heart of the middle Atlas Mountains, then Azrou, a relaxed berber town, enjoying superb scenery and interesting road stops all the way.
Reach Beni Mellal city through the mountain regions, a modern town surrounded by orange and olive groves and have an optional lunch stop in the city. Then continue your journey to Marrakech, the red city.
Overnight in Marrakesh.
Day 5 : Marrakech Tour.
Breakfast then whole day will be devoted to exploring the impressive city of Marrakech, also named `the pearl of the South’. You will visit the Koutoubia mosque, the Saadiens tombs and Bahia Palace, and have ample time to walk the many souks of the old medina. We will end at the famous place, Jemaa El Fna Square, a UNESCO site and the heart of the city , crowded with legendary snake charmers, storytellers, musicians, barbers and sellers of fruit, water, spices, food, etc. Late afternoon you return to your hotel; dinner and overnight in Marrakesh.
Day 6: Marrakesh
At leisure enjoy the day on your own.
Optional excursion to nearby Ourika valley southwards of Marrakech to experience authentic traditional berber life OR a day trip to the coastal city Essaouira, one of the most picturesque city in Southern Morocco.
Day 7 : Marrakech- Marakech airport.
Breakfast at your hotel. Private transfer to Marrakech Airport for your flight home.
